Senior Citizens Match Report 23rd May 2023
Today's match was against Rosehill played in lovely sunny weather.
We were warmly welcomed, as always, by Rosehill and the match got underway slightly early as everyone was present.
Both sides had newer members amongst their players and all enjoyed the afternoon playing on a well kept green.
The results went mostly to Rosehill but Griffin managed to draw on one rink and save a whitewash. Shots were 54 to Griffin and 87 to Rosehill,
Griffin 1 point Rosehill 9 points.

Senior Citizens Match Report 27th June
It was a warm afternoon for the return match against Harlow but an occasional breeze blew across the green. Having lost on all rinks to Harlow last week, today we improved by winning on two rinks, giving us 4 points. Shots were 58 to Griffin and 76 to Harlow.
We now have 9 points and are still supporting the league.
Senior Citizens Match Report 4th July
In contrast to last week we were met with overcast conditions at Bantham and Ongar. As everyone was there early we started before 2pm which was just as well as the heavens soon began showering us with rain. We bravely carried on to complete the necessary 10 ends for a match. Several of our side had not played on an artificial green before and everyone stoically carried on through the rain. Back in the club house we were revived with tea and biscuits and pleasant chatter.
We lost on all four rinks, one of them by just one shot. Shots were
Griffin 17 and Bantham and Ongar 56.
We still have 9 points and are still supporting the league.
Senior Citizens Match Report 11th July
We welcomed Rosehill to Griffin this week and had an enjoyable afternoon. The weather had fun with us by adding some brief light showers between the sunshine.
We lost on three rinks and drew on the other rink giving us one point this week. Shots were Griffin 51 and Rosehill 71.
We now have 10 points and continue to support the league.
Senior Citizens Match Report 18th July
