The annual Triples Weekend took place on Sat 19th and Sun 20th July. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't very kind with lots of rain interrupting play but, through excellent organisation and decision-making, Internal Competition Secretary, Allison W, the weekend's fixtures were all completed. In a tightly-contested league table, five teams were able to qualify for the final going into the last fixture. Eventually, teams F (Maria P, Jim L and Adrian P) and A (Eddie P, Katy F and Gordon C) finished first and second respectively. Congratulations to them!

After the matches, players and spectators enjoyed a helping of scones and strawberries. Thank you to everyone that helped making the weekend such a success.

Fun fact: The present and past pronunciation of scones is different. A scone that you have on your plate is pronounced scone (like cone)... but once you've eaten it, it's skon! (s'gone)

(I'm not sure the joke works in writing, haha!)
