WELCOME TO GRIFFIN BOWLS CLUB!

Saturdays at 10:00am = Youngsters (under 18) and All-Ability club. Come along for fun and coaching! Check our Facebook page.

Wednesdays at 6pm: Open roll-up. Come along and give bowls a go. Have a chat with members. Let us know before if you are coming for the first time.

Open Club Night (every Wednesday in the Summer season and every Friday in the Winter season)

We have an Open Club Night every Wednesday (Summer - April to September) or Friday (Winter - October to March) evening from 6pm until dusk, when you can just turn up and have a go. You are also welcome to stay and have a chat with our friendly members with a drink or two at the bar.

 

What happens at The Griffin? 

The Griffin Bowls Club in Harlow is a mixed outdoor bowls club that has a wide and varied number of bowling fixtures throughout the summer and also holds Short Mat events in the pavilion in the winter. We are as equally social as we are competitive.

 

Summer months (April - September)

  • Saturday and Sunday home and away mixed friendly matches.
  • Full range of internal competitions.
  • External competitions (team and individual; from local to county level)
  • Regular (monthly) Social Events.
  • Social club night on a Wednesday for coaching, practising and fun!
  • Mid-week, weekend and evening ladies' leagues. 
  • Thursday 4’s, weekend and evening leagues for men.
  • Senior citizens midweek mixed league.
  • Two 'tours' every year - one in February and one in June.
  • Open from 11.00am till dusk playing on any of our 12 rinks.
  • Saturday morning club for Under 18s and youngsters with extra needs.

Winter months (October - March)

  • Short Mat on two mats in the pavilion
  • Tuesday and Thursday morning roll-ups. From 10am until 12 noon.
  • Friday evening roll-ups from 6.30pm until 8.30pm
  • Internal league on Wednesday evenings.
  • Full range of internal competitions.
  • External matches and league
  • Saturday morning club for Under 18s and youngsters with extra needs.
